The scientist Yoshiharu Hashimoto (played by Yosuke Eguchi), who has a leg disability, leads a scientific team (including Barbie Hsu and Chen Bo-lin) to invent the "Mengjie Sponge" to capture the ghost of a thirteen-year-old boy. To uncover the boy's cause of death and ensure he can transform into a similar ghost after his own death, Hashimoto seeks the help of the supernatural agent Ye Qidong (played by Chang Chen) to follow the boy who has been released. Ultimately, Ye discovers that the boy was murdered by his biological mother. Then, Ye sees a fine thread between the boy's eyes, seemingly connected to some mysterious force. Fearing the boy might harm them, the team decides to isolate and detain him again, unintentionally disturbing the other end of the thread, which releases a more terrifying and vicious force. Team members begin to die in bizarre ways one by one, and Ye and his girlfriend (played by Ivy Chen) become targets of this force.
