Stephen (Matthew Broderick) has lived a life of strict routine and has long been accustomed to and enjoys his unchanging lifestyle. When it comes to Christmas, Stephen is also a conservative, holding deep-rooted holiday customs and unable to tolerate even the slightest change. One day, Stephen gets a new neighbor named Danny (Danny DeVito). This man's personality is the complete opposite of Stephen's.
