For Senior Inspector Fang Zheng (played by XU Zhi An), a member of the major crime unit who consistently solves extraordinary cases, the colleagues from other departments who vie for credit at the celebration party are mostly mediocre. The resolution of many cases relies heavily on him and his dedicated subordinate Ah Ze (played by LEI Yu Yang). As a result, his demeanor can be somewhat autocratic and arrogant. During a specific operation against criminals, he couldn't wait for the Flying Tigers to issue orders, which led to two colleagues dying on the street. Fang Zheng himself was shot and fell into a coma, spending two years in the hospital. When he wakes up, his mother has passed away, and his girlfriend has become someone else's wife. The world around him has significantly changed, but unexpectedly, he has gained the affection of nurse Oscar (played by LI Li Zhen), who took care of him diligently throughout his coma. After a period of recovery training, Fang Zheng has nearly returned to his pre-coma condition, showing an ability to see ghosts. This newfound ability initially causes him panic, but a conversation with his former colleague, psychological doctor Ah Jie (played by ZHANG Da Ming), reassures him. After returning to the police force, Fang Zheng takes the initiative to tackle a serial rape and murder case of nurses that has remained unsolved for two years. Within this timeframe, six female nurses have been raped and murdered, with most of the bodies never found. The case was established because one victim had reported to the police station to file a complaint with Ah Ze. Fang Zheng stays calm and concludes that the assailant is a highly intelligent male who is very familiar with police investigation techniques. As the case begins to take shape, Ah Jie informs Fang Zheng that Oscar's life energy is weakening, and she may be the next target of the killer.
