This film consists of four stories based on the themes of joy, anger, sorrow, and happiness. One of the stories, "Joy," takes place on a grim night when a woman in white suddenly appears at a scholar's home. At first, the scholar is very afraid, but he becomes captivated by her beauty and spends the night with her. The next evening, the scholar wants to summon the ghostly woman again, so he goes to her grave to invite her. However, the grave belongs to another person, and instead, he summons an ugly female ghost.
