Buddy the brown bear is a lucky guy, pampered by his adoptive parents and living a comfortable life. However, he is now released back into the forest, and being unaccustomed to the harshness of nature, Buddy is desperate to return to the city. The arrival of the black-tailed deer Elliot changes his plans. Elliot has one of his antlers broken by a hunter and is captured in a truck heading to town. After much hesitation, Buddy ultimately rescues Elliot. This decision prevents Buddy from returning to his previous life smoothly. Elliot sees his savior Buddy as a brother and follows him, enticing him to enjoy the wild jungle. When Buddy arrives in the jungle, he discovers that the conditions are too harsh and nothing like the comfort of the city.
