Hong Gil-dong (played by Lee Dong-wook) is a private detective with no fear, no compassion, no memory, and no friends, boasting a success rate of 99% in solving commissioned cases, usually finding the people he's looking for in less than a day. However, the only person he has never been able to catch is the murderer of his mother, Jin Byeong-deok (played by Park Geun-young). Just when there is a glimmer of a clue in the case, it is revealed that Jin Byeong-deok has been kidnapped.
