Far from the hustle and bustle of the world, a house located in the Alps has welcomed new owners. The male lead, Theo (played by Kevin Bacon), is a somewhat famous screenwriter who moves there with his wife Suzanne (played by Amanda Seyfried) and their obedient daughter Ella (played by Avery Tiiu Essex) in search of new creative inspiration. Initially, everything is harmonious and happy, but it seems that there is a terrifying presence hidden in the air. Nightmares, shadows, noises, and hallucinations intermittently disturb the family. One day, Theo perceives his wife's infidelity, leading to an argument after which Suzanne leaves alone. Following this, the strange phenomena escalate, and during this time, their daughter mysteriously disappears. Theo discovers that the house seems to have transformed into an endlessly shifting maze. He tries to escape with Ella, but as the diary states, "You should have left, but it’s too late..." This film is adapted from the novel of the same name by German writer Daniel Kehlmann.
