After her father's sudden death, high school girl Hatsumi Kimura (played by Aoi Yoshikura) moves with her mother Keiko (played by Mayumi Asaka) to a new house previously scheduled in the suburbs. Keiko, a capable and independent lawyer, cannot take care of Hatsumi’s daily life too much, and concerned about her safety going to and from school, she asks her daughter to stop her activities in the track and field club, which leaves Hatsumi feeling mixed emotions. One morning, Hatsumi accidentally meets a young man named Ryutaro Noguchi (played by Yuuya Yanagida), who handles trash. Ryutaro grew up in an orphanage without parents and is struggling to move forward alone, but Hatsumi’s presence seems to bring him different feelings. The two young people from different backgrounds establish a pure friendship; however, Keiko’s strict parenting causes complications and rifts between them. On that night, Ryutaro could not suppress his inner impulses and crossed the boundary between them...
