The story takes place in 17th century Poland. Father Szuya (played by Mieczyslaw Voit) is a respected priest who firmly holds on to his faith and ideals. One day, he is assigned to work at a convent, where rumors suggest that the devil has secretly infiltrated and is causing trouble. The head of the convent is a woman named Joan (played by Lucyna Winnicka), who exudes a powerful and mysterious beauty, driving many of the nuns to madness. As time goes by, Father Szuya realizes the power of the devil is far beyond his own capabilities, so he seeks help from an old wizard. However, ultimately, Szuya is unable to resist the devil's temptation and, in an effort to help Joan, commits the sin of murder.
