The government has implemented a radioactive bug exterminator to eliminate pests in the fields, but it has resulted in terrifying consequences. The harmful substances emitted by the exterminator have resurrected the dead nearby, turning them into hungry zombies. Unfortunately, John and Anna, who are near the farm, are attacked by the zombies, and they only manage to escape with the help of an officer, who meets his end in the jaws of the undead. As a result, John is suspected of murder and arrested by the police, while Anna is sent to the hospital. As the virus continues to spread, the dead in the hospital begin to rise and attack the living. After learning of this, John desperately escapes from the police station, but will he be in time to save Anna... This is a 1970s horror masterpiece co-produced by Italy and Spain, regarded as a classic work by horror film enthusiasts, and is the highest-grossing zombie film of the decade. The film features a stylish and atmospheric shooting style without any sense of confinement. Although it has been criticized for imitating Romero's 'Night of the Living Dead', it has significant differences in certain creative aspects. In the first few minutes, the director reveals the grim aspects of society, then shifts the narrative tone and begins the intense plot. The zombies in the film are endowed with intelligence for the first time, and the male and female leads also have considerable tragic elements, with many scenes being imitated by later zombie films, making it a milestone work.
