Isabelle (played by Diane Kruger) and her boyfriend have maintained a ten-year relationship, and now, still deeply in love, they decide to get married. However, in Isabelle's family, all the women are troubled by a "curse" which states that their first marriage is doomed to fail, and true happiness lies in the second marriage. Facing this bleak situation, Isabelle comes up with a clever plan; she decides to travel abroad to find an honest loser, marry him in a flash marriage, and then quickly get a divorce, so that she can happily enter marriage with her boyfriend. As plans rarely go smoothly, a major unforeseen event nearly ruins Isabelle's plan. Fortunately, a man named John (played by Dany Boon) appears just in time, becoming her "lifesaver."
