Once a moderately famous painter, Lars Olafen (Thure Lindhardt) arrives at an art school in an unknown small town to teach, seemingly intent on escaping his former glory while waiting for the Muses to bless him once more. The local indifference and abruptness leaves him at a loss, but a tall, taciturn student named Eddie (Dylan Smith), who possesses considerable artistic talent, gives Lars a sense of recognition.
