Tommy Jarvis (played by Thom Mathews), who was orphaned by Jason, arrives at a cemetery on a rainy night with friends. They open Jason’s grave to burn his body in a fit of rage, but suddenly lightning strikes Jason's corpse, and to Tommy's astonishment, the killer Jason is resurrected! Terrified, Tommy seeks help from local police officer Detective Garris (played by David Kagen), but the detective believes Jason is a thing of the past, considering Tommy's behavior merely a result of psychological trauma. On this Black Friday night, Jason returns to Crystal Lake Camp—now renamed Green Forest, seemingly to forget the horrific past—and begins a killing spree against the campers and counselors. Detective Garris suspects the killer is the mentally unstable Tommy, while Tommy, with the help of Garris's daughter Megan (played by Jennifer Cooke), attempts to send Jason back to hell once again…
