On a night in 1987, a distraught Seth Hampton (played by Graham Skipper) drives to his best friend Mark Fisher's (played by Josh Ethier) house, rambling incoherently and claiming that a blue light appeared in the sky not long ago and took their other friend Rob. Initially, Mark doesn't quite believe Seth's words, but suddenly a citywide blackout occurs, a dazzling blue light shines outside, accompanied by sharp, piercing sounds. In the chaos, Mark seems to be controlled; he pushes the door open and never returns. After that, the blue light incident causes quite a stir in the town of Payton, and Seth becomes a suspect in the disappearance cases of Rob and Mark. Two years later, Mark's girlfriend Jane Clavin (played by Vanessa Leigh) has a new boyfriend and is preparing to start a new life, while Seth is still haunted by the experiences and nightmares of that year. One day without warning, another blackout occurs, and the long-missing Mark reappears in the jungle, but this is certainly not the friend Seth once knew… This film is based on true events that took place in Payton, Maine.
