Four moms—her only commonality is their kids’ preschool—arrange a “Fun Mom Dinner” to drink, chat, and connect without worrying about their kids and husbands. Guests at the dinner include recently divorced Jamie (Molly Shannon), “super mom” Melanie (Bridget Everett), overwhelmed Emily (Katie Aselton), and Emily’s best friend, socially savvy Kate (Toni Collette), who can’t believe she let Emily talk her into having dinner with moms. The night starts as a disaster, but a combination of alcohol, karaoke, and a charming bartender (Adam Levine) leads to an unforgettable night where they all let loose and express their feelings, revealing the unknown sides of their lives. Eventually, the seemingly different women come to a consensus, realizing they have more in common with their neighbors and the men around them.
