In the mid-19th century, in a remote area of the Basque Country in Spain, the well-dressed Alfred Ortiz (played by Ramón Agirre) arrives in a local town claiming to work for the provincial government. His purpose is to find the blacksmith known as "The Hammer," Parci Francisco (played by Kandido Uranga), to learn about certain matters. According to the locals, The Hammer has a violent temper and is difficult to deal with; his blacksmith shop has become a ruin and is rumored to be associated with the devil. Soon, the men of the town discover Ortiz's true intentions. Years after the Spanish bourgeois revolution, it is rumored that Carlos' gold is hidden in the blacksmith shop. Greedy townsfolk and Ortiz head to the blacksmith shop, unaware that it is a terrifying place where hellish demons abound… This film is adapted from a Spanish folk tale.
