Adam Sykes (Joseph Mawle) moves with his wife Claire (Bojana Novakovic) and their needy child from London to a house in the middle of a forest in Ireland. However, they seem to be unwelcome; some local residents believe that this forest belongs to the mythical territory of the so-called Saint Maud, and their land is not to be infringed upon. Consequently, the residents demand that the Sykes family leave as soon as possible. Adam, who is deeply engrossed in his research on fungi, spores, and other microbes, pays little heed to the locals' warnings, until one night when their glass is broken, prompting him to take notice, and he learns about the legend of Saint Maud from the police. After this, horrifying events unfold, and an enraged unknown presence systematically begins its revenge...
