As the new summer vacation arrives, siblings Kō (Hirose Dōki) and Miho (Toyota Mai) go to their uncle's vacation home in the seaside town of Tonozaki. On their first day, they encounter a rare, massive typhoon. According to the local children, whenever a typhoon makes landfall, the spirits of the sea will come ashore. It seems like an unfounded legend, but from that day on, the children in town begin to witness strange phenomena, such as child ghosts playing hide and seek in the water and a death train heading towards the sea... Meanwhile, children start to go missing one after another. These events remind them of a long-ago incident, when the town's elementary school was built by the sea. One day, a few students were playing hide and seek in the empty school building when they unexpectedly encountered an unprecedented tsunami, and all the children along with the school were buried beneath the sea.
