In the 1910s, in the western borders of our country, opium trading was rampant. The bodyguard king, Zha Xi (played by An Yapin), is targeted by the foreigner Tom (played by Long Wei), who buys him to assist in transporting drugs. To ensure Zha Xi dedicates himself fully, Tom promises him a large sum of money and redeems Zha Xi's lover, Cuihua (played by Ma Junqin), from a brothel. The border patrol's secret investigation unit, led by Jin Lei (played by Lu Jun), is tasked with investigating the foreigner’s drug trafficking. Struggling to find evidence, he and his master, the Daoist priest Jiuqu, gather intel and finally discover the opium hidden by Tom. After the situation is revealed, Tom tries to escape responsibility by framing Zha Xi, who is clueless and is subsequently imprisoned. Seeing her lover in jail, Cuihua reluctantly submits to another man to gain access to visit him and explains the truth to Zha Xi. At this moment, Tom has already loaded the opium into a car, attempting to escape through the north gate, coincidentally encountering Zha Xi, who has escaped from prison. Driven by rage upon seeing his enemy, Zha Xi leaps onto the car and sets it on fire...
