In a quiet place far away from the city's hustle and bustle, lives the beautiful deaf-mute writer Maddie Young (played by Kate Siegel) in a secluded wooden house. Her world is silent, yet a voice fills her tranquil inner world while she writes. When she finds herself at a standstill in her writing, Maddie gets up to tidy the dishes in the kitchen, only to be brutally murdered by her friend Sarah (played by Samantha Sloyan), whom she had just seen not long ago. Unfortunately, despite Sarah's desperate cries for help, Maddie cannot hear her. Unaware, Maddie returns to her computer to continue working, while the man quietly sneaks into the room.
