Jack (Jeff Bridges) was once a radio host. An unfortunate incident caused by his inappropriate remarks led to a man named Edwin (Christian Clemenson) experiencing a mental breakdown and going on a shooting spree, resulting in multiple casualties. Filled with guilt and pain, Jack fell into a deep low point in his life. Jack met a homeless man named Parry (Robin Williams), and to his surprise, Jack learned that he was the cause of Parry's madness. Parry was once a learned professor, and his wife was a victim of Edwin's shooting; unable to cope with the loss of his wife, he went insane. To atone for his mistakes, Jack decided to help Parry. Ultimately, Jack not only brought Parry together with his secretary Lydia (Amanda Plummer) but also successfully helped Parry regain his sanity.
