This film is structured around a ghost story, narrating five ghost tales. Architect Walter Granger visits a farmhouse in the countryside for business negotiations. He feels a sense of déjà vu, as he had a terrible nightmare where everyone in the house appeared. When he discusses this strange matter with the guests, Dr. Fan expresses a natural skepticism, which leads each guest to recount a personal ghost story. The film concludes with the revelation that all of this was just a bad dream of the architect. British film critic Denise Powell gave this film a high rating, pointing out that many of the materials were specially written for the film... Five Stories The story of "The Coachman" tells of racecar driver Hugh Granger, who is injured in a car race and lies in a hospital room. In the middle of the night, he sees the coachman of a hearse outside his window waving at him. The next day, he sees a bus conductor who is the same coachman he saw that night. He is too frightened to get on the bus, and a few minutes later, the double-decker bus crashes. "The Christmas Story" narrates a Christmas when a girl named Sally attends a party. During a game of hide and seek, Sally comforts a lonely, crying little boy. Later, she learns that the little boy was murdered years ago by his sister. "The Demon Mirror" tells the tale of Joan Cothran, who buys an ancient mirror as a gift for her fiancé Peter. When Peter looks into the mirror, it reflects the scene of a murder that took place in the house where the owner killed his wife. Peter’s mind is controlled by the person in the mirror, and he grabs Joan by the throat. Joan cleverly shatters the cursed mirror, allowing Peter to escape the nightmare. "The Story of the Golf Players" involves two good golf friends who both fall in love with the same woman. Soon, one of them dies, and the other marries the woman. On their wedding night, the deceased golfer returns to "haunt" them, playing tricks. "The Ventriloquist's Dummy" recounts the experience of a ventriloquist who is manipulated by his puppet.
