"Frankenweenie" is adapted from Tim Burton's 1984 short film of the same name and is the first Disney animated feature that Burton has produced. The film is shot in black and white stop motion and will be converted to 3D in post-production. To match the storyline, over 200 puppets and props were created. After his beloved dog Sparky is hit by a car and dies, young Victor is heartbroken. During a science class, when the teacher conducts an experiment that uses electricity to make a frog’s nerves twitch, Victor gets the idea to bring his dog back to life. That night, he uses lightning to shock Sparky's corpse, bringing him back to life. The resurrected dog frightens the neighborhood, which sees the dog as a monster. When the neighbors chase the dog, it and Victor are cornered in a small shed, where they almost die in a fire. However, the dog saves Victor, sacrificing itself in the process. The neighbors and Victor's parents are moved and decide to bring it back to life once more. They generate electricity using a car engine and manage to resurrect the dog again...
