In the 1920s, in Algeria, a country in Africa, there lived a respected elder named Sfar and his beautiful, kind daughter, Zahra, who had just entered her teenage years, in a small Jewish town. The elder felt regret that his once lovely daughter was no longer innocent and worried that Zahra might be tempted by various things contrary to their teachings and go astray. One day, strange events occurred in the elder's home when his cat began to speak after eating a parrot. The mystical cat, influenced by its surroundings, articulated well. To avoid affecting his daughter, the elder forbade the cat from seeing its beloved little master, and was even willing to undergo circumcision to convert. One day, a mysterious young Russian appeared in the town. His arrival brought even more unknown experiences and shocks to this community, already lively due to the presence of the talking cat... This film is based on the comic of the same name by the famous French cartoonist Joann Sfar and won the Best Animated Film Award at the 2012 César Awards in France.
