Company white-collar worker Zhang Ling (played by Zhu Yucheng) takes the eerie Bus No. 375 home, where he dines opposite his girlfriend Su Bai (played by Shi Tianqi). The two have been in a relationship for many years but are currently in a disagreement over marriage. Their stories intertwine with a mysterious radio program titled "The Ling-Yi Incident": "Lovers" Zhang Ling and Su Bai were once college classmates at a university in Chengdu, but for unknown reasons, the school suddenly erupted into a zombie chaos. Former classmates turned into soulless demons, while Zhang Ling is determined to protect his beloved Su Bai. Late at night, a girl hiding outside is splashed with acid and disfigured with a knife; to soothe his wife's wounds, Zhang Ling is introduced to a mysterious oil. "Mother" Zhang Ling's mother falls into a state of clinical death due to illness, and the couple brings the elderly woman home for care, but their son Xiao Tao begins to exhibit many strange behaviors.
