Ellen Page is in talks to star in the Sony Pictures Columbia remake of the 1990 horror film "Flatliners," also known as "Enter the Other Side" or "Pulse Detector," to be directed by Niels Arden Oplev, director of the Swedish version of "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo," and adapted by Ben Ripley, the screenwriter of "Source Code." The film "Flatliners" tells the story of several medical students who conduct a daring experiment to experience the sensation of death: they instantaneously stop their heartbeats and brain functions, reaching a state of clinical death, and then quickly revive. The experiment is successful, but they can never forget the terrifying near-death experiences, and some things seem to follow them back to the living world.
