Rachel (played by Demi Moore) is a successful mystery novelist, often appearing on the bestseller lists. However, after her 5-year-old son drowns while playing, she can no longer face her old home filled with memories. She travels alone to a fishing village, where, thanks to her thoughtful friend’s arrangements, she stays in a small house, ready to begin new writing. The small fishing village has a psychic medium, a kind bar owner, and a lighthouse on a distant island that flickers on and off. Her life seems to be gradually returning to normal. One day, she meets a handsome, free-spirited man on the island and quickly falls in love. But when they are supposed to meet the next day, the man does not appear, and no matter how she searches, she cannot find him. After inquiring, everyone tells her that it was all just her illusion, and that no such man exists here. Does supernatural power really exist? Or is it just a carefully orchestrated scam?
