For Maruge (played by Oliver Litondo), learning is the happiest thing in his life. However, at the age of 84, he can no longer relive the joyful times of the classroom. The free education policy implemented in Kenya has given Maruge new hope, and he wishes to become one of the many students benefiting from it. Maruge's persistence and passion touch teacher Jane (played by Naomie Harris), but do not persuade the school officials and many parents.
