In 2004, the Hong Kong baseball team welcomed a new coach—Taiwanese Dai Yucheng—who worked with them towards the dream of the Asian Cup. The team members, almost unknown in Hong Kong, live just like ordinary people, facing their own lives and troubles. The highly talented main pitcher Liang Yuchong is a mechanic in life, struggling to maintain long-lasting relationships with his girlfriend. He accidentally meets a girl named Kim (Dong Minli), who is determined to commit suicide, and decides to help her find a reason to live. Xiang Zijun lives with his mother and sister, holds many dreams, besides baseball he also formed a band, and studies at Hong Kong Polytechnic University. His new girlfriend Meizi (Lin Yuan) is an exchange student from Tsinghua University. His troubles include not being able to become the main pitcher and his indescribable feelings for Liang Yuchong. Meanwhile, Dai Yucheng finds a new romance in Hong Kong, spending happy times with a small bar owner, Ah Ping. The Asian Cup begins, and these young men standing on the field start to attack their dreams.
