Oscar (James Franco) is a circus magician with only mediocre skills, who unintentionally gets swept away by a tornado from the dusty Kansas City to the magical land of Oz. The residents there believe he is the legendary great wizard who has descended from the heavens, praying for him to defeat the wicked witch and save Oz. However, the unscrupulous Oscar sees this situation as a golden opportunity to become wealthy. The three witches who claim to be the guardians of Oz—Theodora (Mila Kunis), Evanora (Rachel Weisz), and Glinda (Michelle Williams)—each have doubts about Oscar's identity. As dark forces approach, Oscar is forced into the conflict, and he realizes he must open his eyes to determine which of these beautiful witches are good and which are evil, allies or enemies; otherwise, all the beauty may turn to ashes. Oscar decides to take a chance and confront the wicked witch, but how can his magic tricks stand against the powerful and evil magic of the witch? What will become of the future of Oz?
