On a planet called Planet 51, there lives a group of highly intelligent green creatures whose civilization is highly advanced, and they live in peace and happiness. However, they also have their own fears, which are the humans from Earth, hundreds of light-years away, as they are afraid of being invaded and harmed by them. Ray (voiced by Justin Long) is a young man enthusiastic about planetary research. He is just like any other young person on Earth, doing internships, chatting with friends, chasing girls, and looking for jobs. One day, a spaceship from Earth lands on Planet 51, right in Ray's yard. Astronaut Charlie T. Baker (voiced by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson) causes a series of panics in the local area and is quite frightened himself.
Due to long-standing propaganda, the residents of Planet 51 are terrified that humans will harm them. In a state of desperation, Captain Baker seeks Ray's help to return to the spaceship that is being surrounded by the locals so he can journey back to Earth. Meanwhile, the local defense forces also take action against the "invading" humans. Will Captain Baker be able to return to his homeland?
