The curator of the Louvre Museum is murdered inside the Louvre, and before dying, he struggles to leave behind shocking symbols, which draw the attention of symbologist Robert Langdon (Tom Hanks). During the investigation, Langdon meets the granddaughter of the deceased, Sophie (Audrey Tautou), and the two face numerous dangers, gradually developing feelings for each other. As the case unfolds, they uncover a tremendous secret hidden behind the murder, even involving a mysterious organization that has been in hiding for years—the Priory of Sion.
