Drug addict Kelly Bucknell (played by Morgana O'Reilly) and her accomplices rob an ATM, only to be caught by the police. Subsequently, she is sentenced by a judge to eight months of house arrest. Kelly's hometown is a remote village where her mother, Millya (played by Rima Te Wiata), currently lives with another man. After being fitted with a monitoring device, Kelly loses her freedom and can only curl up inside the old, dilapidated house each day. One day, while listening to the radio, she accidentally discovers that her mother has called a hotline, claiming to have seen a ghost in the basement, which leaves her anxious and uneasy. Kelly has always disapproved of her mother's eccentric behavior, but before long, she encounters a series of strange events. With the law forbidding her from escaping, Kelly can only turn to Amos (played by Glen-Paul Waru), a security guard interested in supernatural events, for help. A life-and-death test is imminent...
