The Taylor family is a typical middle-class family. After returning from a trip to the Colorado Grand Canyon, their youngest son, Michael (played by David Mazouz), seems influenced by Indian legends and becomes obsessed with them. His neurotic state has a huge impact on the other family members. Both his father (Kevin Bacon), mother (Radha Mitchell), and sister (Lucy Fry) seem to see the "darkness."
