Katie (Bella Thorne) has suffered from a rare condition known as xeroderma pigmentosum since childhood, which means that ordinary ultraviolet rays can cause her fatal injuries. In desperation, Katie can only stay at home during the day while the sun is still up, playing her guitar and composing music for enjoyment. However, once night falls, Katie's time begins. With her beloved guitar, Katie goes to the train station and stands by the roadside to perform her songs. One day, a man named Charlie (Patrick Schwarzenegger) is drawn to Katie's singing and stops to watch; her cheerful and lively personality captivates him. To Katie's surprise, Charlie turns out to be someone she had a crush on before, and in order to seize this opportunity, Katie decides to hide her illness.
