Toshiro Mifune, one of Japan's greatest actors, appeared in nearly 170 films, including "Throne of Blood," "Seven Samurai," and "Rashomon." He collaborated with Akira Kurosawa to create the golden age of Japanese cinema, gaining international fame and influencing works such as "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly," and even the creation of Darth Vader in "Star Wars." He dominated the film industry for half a century, regarded as a god-like figure by Alain Delon. This film focuses on his collaboration with Kurosawa, introducing the golden age of Japanese cinema and the history of samurai films. The documentary blends numerous classic films and precious photographs, interspersed with interviews from Koji Yakusho, Kyuoko Kagawa, Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, veteran actors such as Kaoru Yachigusa, Teruyo Nogami, and Sadafu Nakajima, along with martial artists he has killed hundreds of times in films, all sharing recollections of the star's different periods and attempting to uncover the truth behind his split from Kurosawa. Keanu Reeves, who has acted in samurai films, also lends his voice to this film, adding a strong sense of tribute.
