A documentary by Wim Wenders from 1995, which is actually a film that encourages students to play along with him during his teaching at the Munich Film School. The documentary is dedicated to the German film pioneers, the Markus brothers, who invented cinema almost simultaneously with the Lumières. Due to limited footage, it is staged in the style of a silent film. The first 15 minutes can stand alone, featuring the narration of Max's daughter, portraying how her father invented moving images. Following that is an interview with his now gray-haired daughter, Lucy. Wenders felt it wasn’t enough fun, so he invited one of the three brothers in the photos and Lucy's sister out, showcasing the black-and-white figures against a colorful world. It’s another heavenly scene reminiscent of "Wings of Desire," where beautiful moving shots complement the black-and-white images of ancestors looking up, creating an indescribable beauty.
