A photo retoucher with a fear of women, Kai (50), meets a woman named Kyoko who has scars on her body. Requested by Kyoko, Kai processes the images to create a beautiful version of her without scars. Kyoko is captivated by this image, but deep down, she begins to feel her own existence wavering. Falling into the gap between her ideal self and her real self, Kyoko descends into mental confusion. Eventually, she completely loses herself. Feeling that only he can save Kyoko, Kai, prepared for death, resolves to love the woman. In 2015, he won the Grand Prix at the International Peace Movie Festival for "The Earth Was Blue," and his 2017 work "Voice" received the semi-grand prize at the 21st Ozu Yasujiro Memorial Tateshina Highlands Film Festival Short Film Competition, among other awards for his short films.
