The film is based on a true story and tells a love story between two women during wartime. In Berlin in 1943, during the Nazi era of World War II, married Lily (played by Juliane Köhler) leads a passionless life until she meets Jewish woman Phyllis (played by Maria Schrader) at a concert, igniting a sudden passion between them. They affectionately call each other Amy and Gaguya, deeply loving one another. Phyllis is involved in gathering information for an anti-Nazi organization until one day in 1944, she tragically falls victim to Nazi brutality. In a love marked by war, who can escape the pain of life and death? When true love transcends race and gender, does a paradise-like Eden really exist?
