In the autumn of the Xinhai Revolution, the winds of change swept through. The decaying Qing government sought personal gain by selling the railway construction rights of the Sichuan-Hankou Railway, sparking a patriotic revolutionary storm across Sichuan. Luo Xuanqing, the president of the Southern Sichuan Railway Defense Society, is a resolute and tough grassroots hero who led the fight against the authorities. Sichuan Governor Zhao Erfeng brutally suppressed the railway protection movement in Chengdu, provoking the outrage of patriotic citizens. Luo, under the guise of celebrating his mother's birthday, gathered the presidents of various counties to devise strategies. County magistrate Wang Yunlu also attended the birthday celebration, surprising Luo. After Luo's adoptive brother Chen Jingcheng was killed by Qing troops led by Li Chenghua, he sent an Alliance member, Tang Binhxian, to southern Sichuan to assist in the movement, but he was unfortunately captured. Upon learning this, Luo immediately dispatched Chen Sanmei and Luo Xiaohai to rescue him. During the transfer by Qing troops, they successfully rescued Tang Binhxian, leading to a strong bond between Luo and Tang. The rescue of a death row inmate alarmed Li Chenghua, who ordered Qing troops to forcibly search Luo's residence. Luo, enraged, brandished a knife and was about to fight back. At this critical moment, Wang Yunlu came to mediate and prevent a conflict. Luo was extremely grateful and even considered recruiting Wang as an insider during the uprising, which Tang opposed. Just as they were preparing for armed rebellion, a potential danger was brewing—Luo Xiaohai had defected. During an official meeting to establish the Railway Defense Society with the helm leaders of various river docks, Li Chenghua suddenly surrounded Luo’s residence with his troops. Luo turned the tables, using a counter-encirclement tactic to defeat Li Chenghua's forces, who fled in disarray. Luo’s troops pursued victoriously straight to the major town of Xufu in southern Sichuan. However, due to the treachery of insiders, the righteous army fell into an ambush and suffered heavy casualties. At this moment, Wang Yunlu sent someone to negotiate peace...
