A starship, "Black Star Planet," powered by faster-than-light propulsion, experiences a malfunction 58 light years from Earth, with the commander dead and Earth base unable to provide assistance due to the distance. The other four astronauts on board must continue their mission—to destroy the last unstable planet and complete the colonization clearance. The astronauts have been away from Earth for 20 Earth years, but they have only aged 3 years; the boredom of space life tortures them constantly.
