On a tranquil Australian beach, drunken lifeguard Josh (Xavier Samuel) asks his girlfriend Tina's (Sharni Vinson) brother Rolly to check the shark nets at sea. Unfortunately, Rolly falls victim to a shark attack. Rolly's death leaves a significant psychological scar on both Josh and Tina, leading Josh to feel immense guilt, and he gives up his lifeguard job to work as a shelf stacker at a supermarket. Tina goes to China to study dance. A year later, when Tina returns to Australia, she unexpectedly encounters Josh at the supermarket. Meanwhile, chaos erupts in the supermarket with thefts and robberies. As this crisis intensifies, the ground shakes and a tsunami arrives, turning the supermarket into an isolated island, with a giant shark following suit, and a shark-human battle unfolds in an instant...
