On the African grasslands, a cruel dance has been unfolding unchanged for centuries. Due to human hunting and land development, the number of lions has sharply declined, and their living space continues to shrink. The territory of lioness Matlathao's family is challenged by migrating lion prides. In the struggle for territory, Matlathao loses her male lion and must escape with her three cubs in search of a new home.
