18-year-old Zheng Wei (played by Yang Zishan) finally fulfills her dream of attending the neighboring school where her childhood friend and neighbor Lin Jing (played by Han Geng) studies. However, as she steps into the university campus full of hope, she faces a blow—Lin Jing has gone abroad for studies and is out of contact. Zheng Wei feels deeply disappointed and, during difficult times, forms a close friendship with her roommates Ruan Guan (played by Jiang Shuying), Zhu Xiaobei (played by Liu Yase), Li Weijuan (played by Zhang Yao), and senior Lao Zhang (played by Bao Beier). Meanwhile, the wealthy and persistent Xu Kaiyang (played by Zheng Kai) pursues Zheng Wei fiercely, while the popular Ruan Guan guards her loyalty to her beloved Zhao Shiyong (played by Huang Ming) with her unique coolness. A chance misunderstanding leads Zheng Wei to become the arch-enemy of Lao Zhang's roommate Chen Xiaozheng (played by Zhao Youting). Through a series of retaliatory encounters, Zheng Wei discovers that she has fallen for this seemingly cold but kind-hearted academic. Thus, her fierce retaliation evolves into a relentless pursuit, and Chen Xiaozheng ultimately surrenders under the pressure, turning from adversaries to a sweet couple. As graduation approaches in her senior year, Zheng Wei's life faces another test: Chen Xiaozheng acquires a study abroad opportunity originally offered to Zeng Yu (played by Wang Jiajia) but is hesitant to inform Zheng Wei. Feeling deceived once more, Zheng Wei painfully leaves Chen Xiaozheng… Years later, Zheng Wei has transformed into a successful career woman, only to once again taste the unpredictability of fate as Lin Jing and Chen Xiaozheng re-enter her life with feelings of regret and love! Zheng Wei, once the charming little dragon, must confront the fog and choices that life and youth have bestowed upon her… This film is adapted from the bestselling novel of the same name by Xin Yi Wu. It is Zhao Wei's directorial debut and also her graduate work from the directing program at Beijing Film Academy.
