This is a film based on the diary of Joseph Hoover, an anti-slavery soldier during the American Civil War in 1864. Joseph Hoover fought for the anti-slavery Union but was unfortunately captured and sent to a prisoner of war camp. He was captured in a bloody battle and taken to the Andersonville prisoner of war camp in Georgia. They devised an escape plan, but with no weapons, no food, and no survival knowledge in the wilderness, their chances of survival are zero.
