In the near future, the Earth that people once knew no longer exists. The sun has been scorching the Earth with incredible heat for a whole four years. Under this relentless heat, the Earth has split into two parts—one ravaged by floods and the other parched beyond measure. Due to widespread famine, humanity has reached the brink of extinction, with a few survivors struggling to get by on whatever is left and finding water. There are rumors that in certain mountainous areas, the situation has improved, as it is evidently raining there. Mana and her sister Leoni want to try their luck by going into the mountains, and to make the journey, they enlist Philip. The deal is simple: Mana will exchange her body for food and safety. Along the way, Philip's car breaks down and they run out of gas. They stumble upon an abandoned gas station, hoping to repair the car and find some supplies. After encountering some starving individuals, and Leoni getting kidnapped, Philip finds a man named Tom, who can fix their car and take them up the mountain. Philip agrees to begin the journey with Tom—even though the girls are not very willing to go along. It turns out that the road ahead is not smooth, and their supplies mysteriously dwindle. After spending a few days together, Mana feels that Tom is a more reliable partner than Philip. However, ruthless nature continually puts him in deadlocks and difficult situations. Gradually, Mana discovers that the ones stealing their supplies are not only interested in food and water; they have a greater interest in her personally. But if she wants to see her sister alive, she must overcome her fears and face the scorching sun and the threats of the robbers alone without Philip. A massive challenge is slowly approaching—a challenge so great that Mana could never have dreamed of…
