By a stroke of fate, the Roman Empire bath designer Lucius Modestus (played by Hiroshi Abe) travels through the past and future, and between the East and West, incorporating the bath culture of the "flat-faced" Japanese people into the design of the Roman baths, earning the admiration and love of Emperor Hadrian (played by Masachika Ichimura) and the citizens. Hadrian is devoted to establishing a peaceful and harmonious empire, but the Senate incites the people's warlike sentiments, fueling their bloodlust through the bloody spectacles of the Colosseum. Worrying for the empire, Lucius is urgently called upon and returns to Japan multiple times for inspiration, designing healing baths for injured and exhausted slave warriors, as well as the empire’s heir, Kaonious (played by Kazuki Kitamura), who is on an expedition. This leads him to reunite with Real Yamayuki (played by Aya Ueto), who has become an editor for a hot spring magazine. A furious storm is about to arrive, and the fates of Lucius and Real become tightly intertwined... This film is adapted from the manga of the same name by the artist Mari Yamazaki.
