Based on one of the longest and bloodiest real cases in American police history. The title “#211” is a police code that means “robbery in progress.” Mike Chandler (Nicolas Cage) has been a cop his entire life and is finally ready to enjoy retirement. His partner, Steve Mackey, is a rookie cop and also his son-in-law. Along with them is a court-appointed fifteen-year-old boy named Kenny, who is required to accompany them on patrol. Despite their reluctance to have a tag-along, they continue their routine patrols in the city streets. However, the three soon find themselves facing a bold and violent bank robbery.
