On her way to study, Zhu Yingtai, disguised as a male, encounters the charming Liang Shanbo (played by Ling Po). The two find they have much in common and travel together. After three years as classmates, Zhu Yingtai and Shanbo become close friends, and her feelings for him gradually deepen as they spend time together. However, due to their differing social standings, she cannot reveal her true feelings. One day, under pressure from her father to return home, she must take leave, leading to a poignant farewell. Despite her hints and tests, the thick-headed Liang Shanbo remains oblivious to her feelings, and their separation becomes eternal...
