The arrival of death comes under one's own choice; what Hollián can't let go of is his old dog Truman, and the farewell begins with Truman. Faraway, his dying friend Thomas rushes to Madrid upon hearing the bad news; it’s a four-day mission originally aimed at persuading Hollián to continue his treatment, but from the very start, Hollián goes to say goodbye to the doctor, then interviews potential dog adopters, even seeking psychological counseling for Truman over the loss of his beloved owner. Death becomes an opportunity; he comes to understand the people around him, including awkwardly encountered friends and the son unaware of his father's impending death. Thomas silently watches as his stance softens; in this moment, the warmth of friendship becomes more important than death. Facing death calmly, and while shedding tears, he doesn’t forget the joys of life; the two main characters perform as true confidants, both being awarded Best Actor at the San Sebastián Film Festival.
